About Us

There are 1069 boys in years 7 - 11 and 306 boys and girls in the shared sixth form.

Ofsted 2001 were impressed by

• The dedication and teaching skills of a hardworking staff which has ensured that many pupils have continued to achieve at around average standards despite unusual circumstances

• High standards in physical education as a result of very good teaching

• The very good range of extra-curricular activities which are enthusiastically supported by many boys

• Very good use of computers and new technology in many subjects

• Strong links with the community particularly, though not exclusively, through its sports college status

• The committed and clear leadership of the headteacher and his newly created senior team which is providing a secure platform and strong impetus for improvement
